The journey of life began some few years back.
Birthed into this beautiful, but sinful world.
My little voice filled the four corners of the ward.
Beautiful smiles appeared on the faces of those I was born to.
I later learned that they were my "daddy" and "mummy", the channels through which I found myself in the world.
A year and a half later, I was sent to kindergarten.
I learned the alphabet and numbers so quickly.
I could finally form words and sentences.
Mummy was excited, daddy was proud.
Soon, I appeared in nursery classes.
Constantly battling with wicked teachers at such a tender age.
Mummy understood, daddy was angry.
And together, we fought the heartless teachers.
Though some were gentle, the majority were harsh.
Aged ten, I was a scholarly student.
I could finally move to junior high, I was now a "high school student."
Three years passed; I learned patience, humility and respect.
I met members of the intelligentsia, people who had a positive impact on my life.
I met mediocres, and they were resistant to change.
In all of these challenges, I strived to be scholarly, to be my favorite self.
I got promoted to senior high school, there I could see myself getting more vivid goals.
At the beginning of my journey in senior high, I began with determination and ended with success.
I got out, I'm in a new world.
In the university, a broad place.
I've seen new things, met new people and I know this is just the beginning.
Many things are coming in.
Many chapters are unfolding.
Things are changing.
The world is moving rapidly.
But amidst all these changes and challenges, I'm finding myself.
In the midst of all this chaos, there is joy.
There's a purpose, there is a goal to be fulfilled.
Daddy and mummy must be made proud.
Their efforts must be reciprocated with good grades.
At the end, The Almighty must be glorified.

As the year is ending, I'm reminiscing on my journey in the past few years.
As chapters are ending, new ones are unfolding.
I'm in control of the wheels, I'm driving my life forward, towards the right path.
I'm learning new things, seeing life in a different perspective.
I'm looking forward to the new year.
It's echoing, it's unveiling…
