Betrayed
Your arms wrap around me
Secure, protective and warm
Eyes piercing through me like knives
The voice of a protector
Someone who loved me
Is it real?
A ring was given to portray togetherness
A paper with written vowels from the heart
A pastor, a church, a ceremony
Years pass by, love grows apart
Words become a chore
Feelings we once had fly by
As if the wind picked them up
Is it real?
Hatred comes into play
Love leaves the picture
You find someone 'better', I feel alone
You seem happier, I'll be happier
Holidays and anniversaries go away
Still engraved into my heart
Is this real?
I feel betrayed
