A Petrarchan Sonnet #1
You seemed so attached to her existence.
Poured down your love with your mellow wording.
You sang so strangely, like a sparrow winging.
What I witnessed left me an artful trench.
Ages have gone, and nothing has lessened.
Is it why there's no rendering for me?
The adoration I wanted to see.
I didn't feel sincere love—a torment.

While I'm in your time, she is in your prime.
Is your heart closed, or is it just narrow?
A spirit like me, you didn't take heed.
I planted old hopes, but you left them dried.
Know that my love for you is not shallow.
So deep—thousands of times I tried to plead.
