An orange slice to replace part of an apple
Doesn't belong

Longing for a place
A place to be loved truly
A place to be cared for
A place to belong

Someone to say 'It's okay'
Longing for something that'll never come
A dream
A wish

Can't put into words the whirlwind of emotions
Like a volcano, erupting is dangerous
Those close by will have to face the consequences
So in a broken jar
Emotions are sealed
A few seeping through the cracks

Desired
Desired by none
Played with indeed

Fake smiles
Façades
Hiding the true intentions,
The truths of others
What lies behind the mask?
Someone as broken as I?
Impossible it seems

Lost with no direction

Freedom
Or lack of
Confined in a home of lies and secrets
Façades
The desire to explore is extreme
The desire to find those who are true

The lies being told
To keep hope
The same hope that deteriorates with every dark thought
True thought

These are not the words of a poet, but the words of a broken girl who sees no end to the constant deceit of others
Or the darkness in which she is yet to truly see
