The story of life,
Is a work in progress,
Success or strife,
You're allowed to digress.

A winding journey,
Hard to ingest,
Gaining confidence, in each passed test.
Contending between, desire and fate,

In a hurry, in fear of being late.
Milestones met, and timelines missed,
Comparing progress, to your check-list.
With joy being based, on successes earned,

And disregard, for lessons learned.
With feeling that you must compete,
to be looked as an elite.
You find misery, in the feat.

Sorrows come, and sorrows go,
just the way, this life goes.
Worthless, vain pursuits will be,
the death of authenticity.
