I stopped trying to explain myself when I realized I was begging for an understanding that never came

I tried, I tried so very hard to understand you but it seemed you never wanted to be understood
We eventually went out separate ways only to realize we couldn't stay away from each other
What have I done to you?
And what have you done to me?
It seems like we are wrapped around each other's fingers
But it seems like mine is worse than yours
We can't stay away from each other even if we try to
And if we try to it hurts one of us so much
But we've gone our separate ways now never to return....
