Modern Fairytales
When I was child, mother used to tell fairy tales,
And I used to gobble them up with eyes wide open.
After everyday's struggle, I wanted to be like them,
Not just stories, they were the way to dream like a train.

I had heard of Cinderella, a girl very poor,
A knight find her and keep her happy for sure.
I had heard of Belle, a girl full of love,
Beast became prince when he got her touch.
I had heard of Snow white, pretty who was,
Her prince found her and kept her out of fuss.
I had heard of Rapunzel, prisoned in a den,
Her price freed her, now she doesn't live in vein.

When I grew up, I have seen them in real time.
Stories become different even if they are the same.

I met Cinderella, struggling alone till now,
No knight came to her to fulfill his vow.
I met Belle, full of love as used to be,
Little she knows that her prince is actually beast.
I met snow white, unaware of her beauty,
Her prince sell her from one to another city.
I met Rapunzel, loved to dance in rain,
Her prince marry her and tie her with a chain.

Still I feel that they belonged to the tales,
They suffer but they continue to fight.
I am pretty sure, they will never quit,
And make the story which only they can. write.
