Somewhere I belong
It had been years
Of making lame choices and even lamer thoughts
But my dream did not change
For I still needed to find,
A place l would sit and not be told,
To stand up because I was occupying,
A seat reserved for someone else.
Then one day while finding myself,
I was gifted with you.

You had a place for just one,
Me.
I did not have to fear,
Because my name had been since creation,
Engraved in that seat and I fit perfectly
For the first and final time,
I sat with legs crossed,
Leaned back and relaxed
For I was home in you.
Somewhere I belonged.
Without having to force it.
Somewhere I was loved.
Without having to produce a resume.
Somewhere where I gave
Because I was given back.
