My Vampirical Tale
In my chair by the fire

The sound came on through

A knock at the door, I wonder who?

'Tis a visitor I wonder

What does he want I implore

I slowly get up and walk to the door

Impressively built

White as the snow

His body was bright, oh how it glowed

'Good evening my neighbor'

He spoke out to start

'Have we been introduced?'

I answered in part

His eyes wandered round'

As if on edge

Yet he did not move

Preferring my front porch instead

He smiled at me

And oh what a sight!

Sharp dazzling fangs, long and pearl white

'I have business tonight' he delights

Now listen to me

When I tell others this tale

That I did not think, to run or be frail

No no no

It wasnt until he asked with a grin

'It would be so kind if youd let me in'

Now I did indeed consider

Simply letting him through

Of this I did ponder

Yes it is true!

But I did not

And let me say why

So when he leaned to me

To say those kind words

I noticed in the window

No reflection

Disturbed, perturbed and unheard

I said naught a word

Yet simply nodded

Stepped back and returned

My home is a haven

And vampires must not invade

So to my neighbor, this will not remain

Not in my home, you monsterous stain!

To all those readers

to children I implore

If suddenly a stranger

should knock on your door

Say no, say no, say no not today

No way will a vampire come in some way

Strangers are strange, of this we know

But somehow, someway, they want to enter

Our home
