Dandelions
Regretful end-of-day sorrow,
Blurring ceiling, boring — a mirror.
Tucked into bed, hours slip by.
Trespassing, you linger in my mind.
Moment-to-moment crawls by tomorrow.
Cheerful dandelions smothered by winters impending bite.
Bargaining to avoid a goodbye.
Throat held tight, air so thin.
Starlight, begging to borrow.
Heavy wish, tasting the grave.
Penny-filled wells run dry.
A wish to see you another day.
