and never let go,
trust is a good thing,
small freedoms
need no speculations,

I had adoration,
your chapters were
fields of annihilation,
I was flanked with
offenses,

you held my hand
but I lost the bond,
the end unfolding
in near display,
questions like weapons,
me in dented armor
of verifications,

I wanted the best
waving flags of love,
in peace with no defenses,

I was slow to see
the irony of you letting go
