Keep Swinging
Left, right, upper cut bear hug,
Straight, hooked, perfect or wrong.
When life throws punches, swift and strong,
When days seem endless, nights too long,
Stand firm, my Son, and boss the ring,
The fight’s not over; keep swinging.

In the middle of it all, though dire,
As bruises form and spirits tire,
Dreams grow dim like fading fire,
But deep within, let courage sing.
Duck and pluck all in sight,
Summon all your might
And rise once more and keep swinging.

For every fall, for every bruise,
There’s strength in battles you don’t lose.
Though tough to embrace the sting
It’s in the trying and not in the sting.
When punched down summon the spring.
Shoot high up in summer, winter or spring.
In every breath just keep swinging.

The world may mock, the odds may sneer,
Your name they may smear,
Everywhere may be snares,
But champions rise through doubt and fear.
With every hit, with every sting,
Remember this just keep swinging.

The victory lies not just in the win,
But in the heart that won’t give in.
So stand your ground; let hope take wing,
And through it all—just keep swinging.
