How is it fair to feel alone
When you're not sleeping on your own?

It's all right, they say?
Time heals all wounds, they say?
Then where was time all these past years
As my heart drowned in my own tears?

Make mistakes, they say?
You live and learn, they say?
All I have learned is people say
Whatever makes them feel okay.

All is fair, they say.
In love and war, they say.
How is it fair that we will heal
