Bad note
I've been singing songs for life
But there was one that caught its eye
Titled Love; this was complicated
Yet he chose I'd sing on that
Starting off with minor keys,
I pitched the clefs
From staffs on the manuscript,
I sang the melodies
So strident and precise, eyes closed
The difficulty of the latter part,
Formed a lump in my throat
It made me tear up for a moment
But I shook off the discomfort
Only for it to resurface, this time worse,
As the Orchestra had lost focus
I recalled the Conductors questions,
When I accepted to do an aria on this song,
"Are you sure you're ready for this?
This isn't conventional like others you've done before."
I rehearsed all my lines well enough,
And thought I could confidently hit the highs,
The crux of my existence depends
On this performance, for just this one time
Of all songs I've sang, none have been
This important as regards my growth
A song so symphonized I put my heart into,
Ended on a bad note.
