Am I halfway ahead or halfway behind?
Life feels so divided, I’m in the bind.
Am I halfway ahead or halfway behind?
My soul in anguish, trying to decide.

Grandma taught morals, mama taught principles,
daddy sang the blues, but left no clues.
A life filled with work, but forgot the cook,
left only finger foods in the nook.

All grown up and nowhere to go,
life began to take its toll with nothing to know.
Going left and right and forward and back,
felt lost in the wake of knowledge in the lack.
