For Ella
Mine.
A flawed lexicon in relationships.
Marriage then, is a testament of our tolerance and not ownership.
They say you loose the right to joke over some things you've tried.

We infact, do not own each other.
We only lend ourselves to others incrementally.
At the first dissonance, we try to recover those debts.
First we reclaim our independence from our parents, friends and ultimately, spouse.

Then comes the little angels from our loins,
Bundles of joy. Powerful even in their blissful naivete.
Our true owners.
You feel for them, not just a relationship,
But loyalty of the most pristine kind.
