Tensions raged between the east and the west
Nuclear weapons poised and ready to test
And then came the straw that broke the camels back
As every nuclear power hit the red button in panic
Releasing the beast designed to destroy
Like a chain reaction with every deploy
Everybody held their very last breath
And then… nothing! Not a single death
The missiles that they thought would explode
Just hit the ground and dented their cone
Each nuclear warhead just an empty shell
Somehow defused just before they fell
The people rejoiced some said it was the Gods
While others reported seeing strange objects
Hovering over just before the great launch
A divine intervention not just by chance
Advanced civilisations were keeping an eye
Like Gods to us coming from the sky
Our galaxy huge and solar system much bigger
The universe itself just goes on forever
Our oceans teaming our forests alive
This was not our planet not ours to deprive
Protectors of nature pondered uncertain times
What can be done about the deadly mankind
