The Arson
They said, "I didn’t expect this from you",
A statement that halted the flow of my existence,
Igniting a fire of guilt within me,
Then came the added phrase, "It's fine",
Which only fueled the flames,
Growing into an uncontrollable inferno,
The echoes of their words linger, rekindling the blaze,
Guilt, a relentless fire, consumes me to ashes,
Its flames engulf my soul, leaving nothing but embers,
In the inferno of remorse, I am reduced to cinders,
In this desolate landscape of my own making,
There is nothing but ashes left,
The unburned piece of my soul left to wander,
Like a ghost condemned to eternal darkness,
My mind incarcerates my soul,
A prisoner of my own conscience,
In this arson, I am both the victim and the spark.
