In The End
In the end it was just me and my thoughts.
A memory surfaced, my stomach's in knots.
Our conversations turned to three little dots.

A painful trap, long after you were gone.
Without you, time seems to drag on.
Where's us, saying goodbye at the break of dawn?

The scent of your cologne lingered in my nose.
You left a mark on my neck, a passionate rose.
Now I can only watch, she's the one you chose.

Your toothbrush ended up in the bin.
Your touches, for ever engraved in my skin.
And I know, compared to her, I can never win.
