Each initiate of a mystery school (you call them secret societies and mostly everything told to you about them is to deceive you), whether it be the Rosicrucian fellowship, Freemason brotherhood, or knights templar order, all undergo an odd initiation after reaching the point of astral travel.
They watch a young child die of natural causes and watch their soul in the spirit world for two years as the soul awaits rebirth.
When a child dies, they die in innocence, living their afterlife without punishment through the first of the three heavens.
This is done to give the initiate understanding of the nature of the afterlife between births.
