Conversation with the moon
I was having a conversation with the moon that day,
She told me not to wake her up from her dreams.
And said that the stars were quite fond of her,
Of her shine, of the scars that make her look beautiful,
The universe felt like home, the stars and the moon being playful,
Whenever the sun comes out they used to hide,
As the sun rays were bright, it set them aside.
“Do you know what love is?”, I asked
When he holds your hand under the moonlight, I know its love,
When he tells you that your eyes twinkle like the stars, I know its love,
When he says that being with you under the same sky makes him feel blessed, I know its love,
When he claims that the universe has its own way of keeping you close to him, I know its love.
As she was saying this, I felt the sadness within her,
The darkness of all time, her scars,
I looked up to her and said, you are beautiful.
Up in the sky with the twinkling stars in this vast universe,
You look bewitching,
Every night, you come to us to shower your love,
The night seems to forget its own darkness under your moonlight.
You have your own way of appearance,
Sometimes giving us a reason to celebrate,
And when you are not there, I can feel the cries of the beings.
You and I are quite alike, though distantly far from each other, yet so close.
That day, she made a promise to be my guardian angel at night,
And in the morning, I intend to keep her with me as I shine bright.
