First day on Campus
I couldn't believe I was finally here, walking into the gates of the campus felt so fantastic, a mixture of excitement and nervosity flooded me. The sights and sounds around me were overwhelming but the thrill of starting a new chapter kept me going.
Although I had already kicked off the registration process before the school session began, we still needed to complete my admission process on my first day, the registration was quite a hectic procedure, I filled in alot of forms, signed some undertaken that guaranteed my good behaviour in school, and with time i sorted out majority of the things i needed to
Then I decided to check into my new hostel, which is definitely an important part of settling in, I was so eager to see what my room would look like, and what kind of roommates I was going to have, on entering the room with my sister helping me carry my luggages, i saw two of my roommates, and i couldn't but gaze continously at the people i was going to spend my entire semester with.
After I had settled into the room and hostel, my dad decided to take my sister and I to a small cafeteria where we could eat and relax ourselves because to him, we had done alot of work, I enjoyed the meal and at that point i promised myself to go there at all times to eat.
After we had finished eating the food, the driver drove me back to my hostel, when I came down from the car, I held my dad as tight as i could because i knew i wouldn't be seeing him again for a very long time, it was such an emotional moment for me, although i didn't cry but you could see from my face that sadness had gripped me entirely.
Later that night, I had conversations with my roommates, I tried to know them better and the kind of backgrounds their coming from, it was a fun moment for the three of us, we laughed, we gisted, we couldn't even resist the urge to call our parents that night and let them know how comfortable the room was, it was such a cozy night, we didn't have the usual night prayer because the hostel managers wanted to relieve us stress that night.
To wrap it up, my first day on campus was super exciting but also a bit nerve-wracking. It really opened my eyes to see how important it is to adapt and make the most of new experiences. I can't wait to see what the future holds and I'm looking forward to making lots of friends, having lots of fun and most importantly, growing my academic and spiritual life.
