At birth,
A child was born and was accompanied with a brain.
The brain —controller of thoughts— was tabula rasa
A clean slate, the brain was made; pure and clean.
The seat of intelligence, sensation and creativity.

At development,
The child began to grow and so did the brain.
Until it started conceiving thoughts; good and bad.
Dramatically, the brain did pick up this and that
Precept upon precept, thoughts upon thoughts:

"Most morally upright people I know live in penury;
I would rather be evil; anything for the money: theft, fraud.
Emeka's heart was broken, Tolulope broke her heart;
He was cheated on by her; 'Love na scam!', I know.
I failed this exam, I can never pass examinations,
This happened to me and to him and her that happened. "

And gradually, those events informed pristine and pure thoughts
The corruptible replaced the incorruptible, stench for savour,
Or have you not read these words vocalised by one wise man:
"You are what you think and what you think you are, you are!"

But sometimes,
There is the need to sit calmly in the waters,
In the waters of positive and possibility thinking,
Allowing currents of calm waters to flood our brains,
Purging negativity out of the seats of our creativity,
Washing earth off precious sapphire, onyx and jasper.

Blowing the chaffs from the grains of our brains,
Watering down that which waters down our dreams,
Waters that can refine our thoughts as fire does gold,
Waters so clean and pure, refine us once again!

And as the words of that great sage, Clemmie:
"Sometimes, we need to bring our brains to newness like a growing bud and furbish our thoughts for corrections."

And with the waters will come the necessary purge,
The purge needed for a surge of greatness within,
And with the surge will come numerous possibilities.
