You’re Somebody Else
In a world full of masks and deception,
You stand out like a cruel contradiction.
Your smile is painted on, your eyes a dead giveaway
You look like yourself, but you’re somebody else today.
I see shadows lurking behind your facade,
The cracks in your armor, the pain you hold so hard.
You try to hide it all, bury it deep within,
But I see through your walls, feel the storm raging in.
You navigate this world with grace and finesse,
But inside you’re drowning in a sea of distress.
You wear a mask of confidence, a cloak of lies,
But I see the truth in your haunted eyes.
You look like yourself, but you’re somebody else,
A stranger in your own skin, trapped in your own hell.
I wish I could reach out, pull you back from the edge,
But you’re lost in the darkness, a prisoner of your own pledge.
I’ll stand by your side, a beacon in the night,
Hoping to guide you back to the land of the light.
You may look like yourself, but you’re somebody else
But just know I’ll be here for you, through heaven and hell.
