In planting trees to provide shades
For others under the sun,
We become indelible
In their hearts long after we're gone;
A penny's worth of a smile
May seem so little to a soul,
Yet at the most ample time
Might make any broken heart whole.

I reckon we have no choice
Than to be held in remembrance,
Either to a sheer disgust
Or true goodness in abundance;
And whilst to be rich or great
Fate to us all may not deem fit,
To be kind and known for such,
Is a call we should not forfeit.
