Handcuffed to October
O’ October what a season to cuff,
pumpkin patches & spooky stuff,
air feels cool but colors are warm,
the spices of life & all of its charm,
as witches & ghouls all gather up,
caught in spells that spell out love,
symphony of trees, rustle up above,
in waves of amber, maple & gold,
best dressed in crimson on old oak,
scarlet letters, Fall’s grand unfold,
& haunted feels that never get old,
the tricks & treats float all around,
as ghost whisper in breezy sounds,
carves a smile lasting a few rounds,
as autumn leaves lay softly down,
the language of souls all lushly bound.
