I once read how the stars miss the sun.
And I could not understand how.
For the stars are themselves sun
And the sun is itself stars.
How can it be then,
The stars miss the sun
as much
as the sun misses stars;
so I thought.
But stars shine so bright they can be seen from centuries away ;
even by the sun
that’s millions of galaxies away.
Like crystal diamonds breathing loudly in the blanket of the night sky
Illuminating even the darkest of
nights and days
So imagine me
Looking towards the stars into my own sun
Shining so bright
even time stops to gaze at the stars.
At one point I questioned how could the stars possibly miss the sun
Until I began to miss you every single moment of my night and day and all the time and space in between.
Your smile,
shining brighter than
any star could ever wish for.
Your eyes,
holding on to the same gasp of air that fills up my chest every time I look into you.

You are the stars in my night sky and you are the sun in my blue skies.
I am nothing but the space in between,
And I finally understood how the stars could miss the sun
Here was the sun and the stars
They froze my time and
let the days float away and
still, I missed you.
Aching everyday, to no longer be the space between you and I
but to be just you and I.
And that’s when I knew how it felt
For the stars to miss the sun
For I was neither a star nor a sun but the space in between and
I missed you everyday more and more.
