Walking Down Memory Lane
#WritcoPoemPrompt49 @AtulPurohit
The days of slate and chalk,
Are not easy to erase,
They hold memories,
Of my childhood,
Of sweet innocence,
and untouched beauty,
Of adventuresome days,
and healthy competitions,
with friends and relations,
walking familiar neighborhoods.
The slate today reminds me,
of those happy days,
days I wish I could bring back,
time and time again,
but time has forbidden me,
to do so.
I am only allowed to reminisce,
so they remain locked somewhere,
down the memory lane,
where they will remain.
My childhood friends and relations,
have all grown up now,
and I sometimes visit,
those familiar neighborhoods,
which look a bit different now,
but I still can almost see,
my invisible footprints,
and it's so true when you say,
the days of slate and chalk,
are not easy to erase,
because they hold memories,
of our childhood.
