Crows' Call
Crows’ calls echoes
Across the earliest of mornings
At the first glowing light
Of day.
No matter how early
For the rest.
Calls echoes across residential blocks
Caw-Ca—caww----Ca
Cah-ca.
-pause-
Cah-cah-ca-aa,
-pause-
Their sound travels on the wind
To another,
Across the way, to another
Tree
Powerline.
Crows speak int their own caw.
Another replies in
A different pattern
Back at the first
They speak
In simple sounds
Rhythmic variation
Yet, somehow more
Intelligent than humans.
