Trapped
Green. Often associated with safety, nurturing, and growth. She heals us when she grows herbs, feeds you your veggies, and provides shelter with the trees we take.
Greenish black vines.
That’s her dark side, a part deep within that holds a cruelty.
You won’t see the vines immediately but when you do your caught.
Drawn in.
The process starts fast like a cheetah,
But when you’re stuck in the darkness everything becomes molasses.
The vines grab your ankle.
The thorns slowly scraping skin.
It wraps around your leg making a trap.
You’ve become a map.
Meant to be explored.
She’ll do just that.
Her vines cutting and chopping and choking as she explores from head to toe, inside and out.
She doesn’t believe she’s doing anything wrong, but neither did you.
You get what you give.
So she slowly kills you, polluting your body with poison, lets bugs roam across you broken skin, lets them take what they want while you cough and cry in agony.
Good, the termites were getting thirsty anyway.
It may take decades, but if the process is fast you die within a year or two.
So be carful when you go in the depths of the woods.
We’ve took from Mother Nature and it’s her turn to take back.
Treat others the way you want to be treated, right?
