Sometimes it is best to be in solitude,
To separate from the crowd,
So no one will intrude,
As you mumble tales alone aloud,
Tears fall unallowed,
Eternal darkness beckons you forth,
A hundred soldiers now dead bowed,
An ancient god questions his worth,
The end teases the snake,
The beggar doesn't dare to wake,
Shadows cascade,
Clots wade,
In blood shining like jade,
A gory conclusion,
The sky bleeds gray,
A rat begs for inclusion,
The mercy of all,
Has nowhere to fall.
