We as mothers' of the nation
asking ourselves what we
did wrong to you and our husbands
as the men of this solid ground.
Husbands, we fought slavery together.
Overcame apartheid together
for our children freedom and rights.
Taught them morals and values
of life, but our struggles and teachings
meant nothing to our cruel, merciless
and ruthless sons.
Do you hate us?
The violence our sons and you husbands
have towards us and our daughters
has demolished our voices like the universe
abolished them.
