Approaching now fast
Is my date of birth—
The twenty-third of October
For all that it’s worth.

Trips made—near thirty-one
‘Round the old faithful Sun,
Or perhaps his thirty-first lap
Over our stable Earth.

Whatever cosmology
With which you align—
The latter if you believe
Your zodiac sign.

Whether you knew it or not—
Well, now you do,
Says the Libra of course,
Of a more even worldview.

No matter the shape,
Be it flattened or round,
I’m ever grateful to be stood here
On God’s blessèd ground.
