So all of it was a big mistake
On one rather fateful day
we'll wake up with our frowning faces,
only to find out that
it's the last day for all the races.

News channels will all be live,
talking about the meteor flock,
which will take away with it all life
on this blue little ball of rock.

Perhaps then we'd open up
to each other, even for just a day,
for just a moment in all these years,
together, we all will stay.

When all the bridges turn to dust,
all buildings would fall.
And all the money people had
would mean nothing at all.

When common folk would shiver,
but so will people masked with fame,
perhaps then we'd realize how fragile
we all are, just the same.

The things we valued most
would disappear, without a trace
and nothing will remain,
on this world's frightened face.
Nothing but regret,
because amidst this race
we'd know it all too well
we could've made this a better place.

We'll finally know what's it like
to feel the unreal, and know the fake.
All these years we spent loathing one another,
so all of it was a big mistake. 💔
