Time has blown you away from me like strong winds,
I hope you don't forget what we have shared,
It seems like it was only yesterday when we were kids,
No boundaries to our imaginations allowing us to be free.
Fear didn’t grip our hearts opening us up to the world, Not shackled by the chains of other’s opinions,
Unaware of the limitations placed on humanity,
Superheroes really believing that we were able to fly.
Not enough of disappointments that discouraged us from trying,
Defeat was not a word we had learned,
And if we listened intently we could still hear stars sing.
