Haunted By Absence
Through crowded halls, I search in vain,
For a trace of you, but find no gain.
You're as hard to grasp as the wind in flight,
You're a phantom that haunts my restless nights.

A ghost of green, where I search, yet never find.
Your elusive presence always on my mind.
In my heart, your absence feels so wrong,
Now you’ve vanished, like a forgotten song.

I thought green would lead me to you,
A shade that once made you stand true.
But now you pass with eyes downcast,
A shadow, slipping by too fast.

You smile, and the world tilts just a bit,
But your presence is rare, a candle barely lit.
I wonder if you know, or if you're too far to see,
The way your absence carves a void in me.

Yet when you speak, you say my name,
In playful tones, it’s not the same.
With just a glance, my heart ignites,
Butterflies awaken, lifting me to new heights.

And I wonder why they say we fall,
Because, baby, with you, I fly above it all...
This is my truth, a tender plea,
Hoping you’ll see the depth of me.
