Fate takes our path,
rerouting the map.
Taking us down darkened
roads, twists, and turns.
Some of which,
burn our souls.

You should have
lasted longer than you did.
You should have
grown old with your
children around you.
You should have
out-lived me.

Fate is sometimes a
capricious beast,
tearing and tossing us
around.
When the storm winds fall,
all that is left is the love
we found.

You should have never
suffered a moment's pain.
You should have been able
to dance despite the rain.
You should have never been
lost to us.

Now…

You should have beautiful wings
to fly the heavens.
You should have the comfort of
God’s loving face.
You should have already
danced with the Angels
and walked with I AM.
