Pain
Today I am Drenched in a stain
as white as Disdain,
That I lose my mind in this foggy pain.
There was time I would stand in my shoes,
Waiting for my friends to stand in theirs.
There was a time I would stand head high,
Claiming ahead of my people's struggle
for one nation they said
for all men born are equal they say.
Under one flag our fathers fought,
I would beam;
For one ideal my people bleed,
I would charm the world with my honor and hope.
The only great nation under the sky,
We're the champions of freedom and peace and all that's touched by light, Adorned in glories of earth and beyond - I declared!!
Maybe I grew too prude.
All the blood, the sweat and effort,
This nation has poured
for the rightful wars have sullenly dried the ideals within.
When Arrogant and clueless
my lost brothers turn enemies of freedom
And dream of their nefarious claims.
In this cloudy sky and a broken heart,
Today when my Capitol weeps enchained.
I lose my mind in that foggy pain.
