Reflection
Though he smiled happily
His eyes revealed his sadness,
Although he seemed fine
The silence drove him to madness.

He loved to dwell
Within his own world of fantasy,
In the hopes of ignoring
The sad truth which is reality.

He kept up a facade of happiness
Yet his soul burned with pain and sorrow,
Each day he wore masks of joy
Though his very heart was hollow.

As I watched him I began to realize
Whilst observing his depression,
That he was no mere stranger
For he was my own reflection.
