I have been abused,
I have been raped and left with wounds,
I have been used,
Tagged as a child with no use,
Discriminated, rejected and reduced,
Deprived of my right to education I can only dream to see the four walls of the class room,
Named as the cleaner and the cook,
Reminded that my place is in the kitchen and I have no right to choose,
I have faced mutilation too,
I have been forced into marriage when I'm just a child that needs to be groomed,
I have been made to live in the shadows of the men that came out of my womb,
The world laughs in my face and says "hey girl child I can't see your use",

And I said to the world,
"Hey world I'm sorry you're too blind to see my use ",
I may be bruised but I will never allow my light reduced,
You can't tag me as a child with no use,a cook or shut my right to choose,
My womb alone holds the future generation that will rule,

Hey world you can't hold me down,
I'm a girl child whose dream can't be cut out,
I'm a girl child with a strong mind and a soft heart,
I'm a girl child who will fight till the world See's me as a Star,
I'm a girl child and I tag myself free to choose what I want.
