Finding Kindred Spirits
For what felt like eternity, friendship eluded me,
Each day a trial, each wound a reminder.
I felt like an outcast, but in fantasy I found solace,
Where hope flickered like a flame in the dark.

Like the unattractive beast, I longed for acceptance,
Yearning for someone to see beyond the surface.
Like the overlooked frog, I sought a companion,
To break the spell of loneliness that bound me.

Like the girl locked away in solitude
I longed for someone to pull me into the light
And like the girl who’s potential was unseen,
I sought a friend to unveil the beauty within me.

I dreamed of a friend who would defy fate,
Like the girl rescued from a life of sorrow.
Someone to stand by me in times of need,
A beacon of light in my darkest hour.

But dreams remained fantasies, trapped within my mind,
A world of make-believe that never materialized.
Yet amidst spirit friends, I found comfort,
A reminder that solace can be found in the unseen.

Still, the longing for human connection persisted,
A desire as real as the beating of my heart.
And in time, amidst the ebb and flow of life,
I found my place, my tribe, my kindred spirits.

To those still seeking companionship,
Do not rush so you do not settle for less.
Trust that the universe has a plan,
And that true friendship will find its way to you.

So for now, be kind, be open,
For kindness is a beacon that attracts kindred souls.
And when the time is right, as it always is,
Friendship will blossom, bright and true.
