This is apology for all that we have not understood.
For keeping our domains limited to 'manhood' and 'womanhood'.
This is a friendly handshake to convey our gratitude.
For being kind enough to forgive our ignorant, at times vile attitude.
This is also a reminder to say, that you are all the symbol of freedom.
For the marginalized and oppressed, you are a shining beacon.
This is a promise to stand by your side, as your courage has for years, shown us the light.
Unlike in the ages past, this is now, not just your fight.
The powers that be, that have muffled this diverse voice.
The social dogma that has, for long, constrained our choice.
It will no longer be a shackle.
If it is; don't worry we will together tackle.
Your choices matter, as much as mine.
Your voices must be heard, without any prejudice asinine.
As Dr King had said,
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
So, we will walk together, and once and for all,
end this age old nightmare.
As we get rid of this prejudiced anxiety.
Together we will celebrate this diverse society.
