The Final Walk
I see your body motionless on the other side.
I keep yelling your name but you don't hear me or the chaotic turbulent wind is not letting my voice reach you.
Panic has set in and my thoughts are crashing into each other not allowing them toale sense, but I must do something now. There is no time to waste, I must teach you and it must be now.
It is so bright yet so hot and I know I can't stop time so I start this action that I may not complete. I close my eyes and let my memories guide me to you. It seems I may not make it, I stumble and feel searing pain, but I carry on until I reach you.
I open my eyes and see you are barely breathing and barely alive. I suddenly collapse next to you barely able to breathe myself. I see a tear run down your cheek, so I ask why are you crying and you say with a raspy voice, " You walked through fire for me" and I said " I walked through fire for us.'
