After Love
#WritcoPoemPrompt115

Threw out old boxes,
Regrets and photographs,
Empty pockets and lockets,
Key chains and valentine cards,
Chocolate wrappers and silver pens.

I did not linger over the scent
From that glass bottle
With blue perfume--
Still a little remains;
I tossed it
In the wastepaper basket.

Love, dead, deserves a coffin
Not an engraved golden casket...
