The Panic Attack
He saw it coming,
With force and speed.
A heaving chest,
And heavy knees.
He felt it coming,
The worst he'd had.
With palpitations,
his face turned hot and red.
With dripping sweat,
And shaking hands,
He closed his eyes,
And let it ride.
Its here he breathed
With fear of life.
As he took the step
And accepted his fate,
And in his mind
He'd be forever late.
And he got in the car.
And drove, and drove.
And the panic turned to calm;
Like metal and rust.
It simply faded away,
And rested like dust.
