walking through life
trying to find the right road
listening to others as
they share their stories
exploring all the known pathways
just to not belong in the roadways
feeling lost in the emotions
of life’s chaotic ways
peace only came when
I heard the words
“I believe in you.”
following the passions
buried in the heart
with the reminder
of someone believing
I could succeed
and build those buried dreams
life has become more successful
as I work to gain
the same belief in myself
and follow the paths
of my own heart
the greatest gift
I ever received
is the simple words,
“I believe in you.”
