The King of Crows
This poem has been inspired by "The Diviners" series, by Libya Bray, specifically from the point of view of the King of Crows.


The land is dead and I shall follow,
they think I haven't felt the sorrow.
Bits of sleep may now attack me,
heal the common laugh of misery.

The coat is empty, I don't care;
there is always more elsewhere.
Burn the walking and the standing,
my power is only expanding.

Since the beginning I have been the king,
worn the heavy, diamond ring.
Can't you tell me how it ends?
I heard the future holds no friends.

Bow to me, the promise of your savior,
the hate has killed your only Mayor.
