Romeo and Juliet's Elegy for Shakespeare
I know not of what had been said by many,
"For never was a story of more woe...",
but I understand what they mean not of it –
a story that tells myriads of so.
Two hearts met, then a forbidden love.
Lo, foolish hearts for hate to have.
Both victims of fate, no mender of heart.
Both praying to be together, yet death they part.
Lovers caught by the bitterness of the eyes that see.
A tragedy that showed how foolish the world can be.
