There are many things the universe will throw, but most of these are caused by humanity.

We make a plea to stop what's burning
in the furnace of the city.
Our hands are smudged with coal and their intentions wreak of brimstone.

We were caught even before
this madness returned.
They continue to rub their noses in the dirt only to dig these graves of ignorance.

They are hellish creatures
that linger inbetween.
The lucky ones run swiftly through the streets hoping beyond the safeguard of the shadows.

They have beaten and burned us for the last time, but shed no blood and now we shine.
We stand out, our resilient
skin of diamond, we are blessed with humble mouths.

We will end what they have started
and restore the value.
