i'm another year older
as the clock rolls over
and what once was unclear
has since grown bolder
i'll bloom where i'm planted, as mama said i would
but i've grown so much greater than i imagined i could.

when the universe repots or replaces me on some novel day
i hope they'll remove me with my roots in place
so wherever i bloom when the earth shakes off its hibernal dust
and when the flowers, once more, have a home here
i'll carry with me the mosaic i'm comprised of;
the abstract you'll revere.
